Submitting Reports

If you believe you have found a bug in the 1.5.x series, there are two ways you can bring this attention to the Joomla! Core Team.

  1. Submit an official Bug Report on the official 1.5.x Bug Tracker here

Please note that you will have to register on JoomlaCode and be logged in to do this.
This is the preferred method of submitting bug reports.

  2. Post a thread on the official 1.5.x Q&T Forum here
This is the place to submit if you arent quite sure whether an issue you are experincing is a bug.

Bug report Information

When you submit a bug report it is important to provide as MUCH information as possible regards the possible bug.  Too much information is better than too little.

An example is:

  • System Information

In your Admin backend, go to  System Info page

  • Screenshots of the error message or behaviour you see on your site

  • Movie capture films demonstrating the error

It is vital that you provide enough information for the team to be able to recreate the error, without being able to recreate the problem, it is difficult to debug a problem.  Thus it is really important to include the workflow that resulted in the bug - Movie capture films are an excellent way to demonstrate this to the team.

Checking for previous reports

It is important that you check to see whether a similar report has already been made.

The team is constantly working on the code base and your particular issue may have already been resolved.
