Tasks and Responsibilites
The purpose of the Translation Work Group is to be a liaison between the international community and the other Joomla! Teams on user and technical matters relating to the translation of the Joomla! application.
The Translation Work Group has the following operation roles:

To accept Language Translation Teams who volunteer to the Work Group in order to develop a language package and translated help site for Joomla.

To ensure that the accepted teams operate within the defined guidelines and agreements and maintain the "Joomla Partner Site" status.

Keep abreast of language and translation matters raised in the forums.

Conduct administrative duties for the Translation Partner Sites including distribution of SQL dumps of screen help data.

Bring important translation and language matters to the attention of the other Joomla! Teams.

In conjunction with the S&G Team, assist with queries relating to the preparation of core translation files.
Status
The Translation Working Group is currently active in producing localisations for Joomla! 1.5 including the hosting of languages specific help servers.
Community Involvement
All community members are welcome to participate in our discussions in the Language Forum. This is the public area for discussion of any Joomla! language related issues.
