Work in progress!
JoomlaCode Projects
- JoomlaCode is not a place to build websites!. It's a resource for developers to build and manage Open Source software projects centered around Joomla!
- A project request needs to contain a decent purpose providing the reason for wanting to start a project. This is used in the decision to grant/deny a new project.
- All communication with members from the JoomlaCode team has to be in English. English is the only language spoken by all members of the JoomlaCode team. Thus, a project request also need to be in English.
- If a project is targeted to a non-English audience, you can provide projects in both English and the language of choice. English needs to be available at all times.
- All open source software distributed though Joomlade has to be developed for running on Joomla! CMS, or have a distinct purpose for Joomla! powered sites.
- All projects on JoomlaCode must be distributed under a F/OSS license, such as GPL, LGPL, BSD, Apache, etc.
- Only projects which are non-commercial in nature can be started.
- Regarding translations, only translations of Joomla frontend or backend are allowed. Translations of 3rd party developers software should be made available through the mother project. The exception to this, is that if a translation team is doing multiple translations of Joomla! extensions.
- Template projects are allowed providing there is a clear benefit to the Joomla community. These would include templates that exhibit advanced behavious (such as utilising flash, javascript, integrated menus, etc) or that are developed for accessibility and useability. Single templates that are found merely to be a proving ground for commercial work, or equivalent, will not be accepted
- If a project is an extension of another project, a module for example, collaboration with the original project is strongly advised. Please contact the developer(s) beforehand to see if your project can be included with the original one. If the original developer is not interested, a new project can be started.
- No projects with adult, sexually explicit nature are allowed.
- Projects must not be promoting or engaging in illegal activities.
- Projects may not imply in any way that inclusion in JoomlaCode constitutes endorsement by Joomla! or Open Source Matters.
- If there is a known security bug with the latest release of one of the JoomlaCode projects, we hold the right to close the project for public view. This will be in communication with the project admin of said project.
- Projects have to be actively maintained. The email address registered in the JoomlaCode account will be used for communication. If communication is impossible, the JoomlaCode team might take actions regarding the 'live' status of a project.
JoomlaCode News Items
Any project can create news items, which will show on the frontpage of http://JoomlaCode.org. Like project requests, news items are subject to approval. We currently use the following guidelines for approving news:
- News items need to be in English. If the project has focus on another language, a translation can be provided so that news items are served in two languages.
The guidelines are available for all to read. The JoomlaCode team, coordinator and core team have final say in all things regarding JoomlaCode.
